Who we are

Technology to track, collect, and transform used cooking oil disposal

Biord connects technology, data, and sustainability to turn used vegetable oil disposal into traceability, measurable environmental impact, and regulatory compliance.

Who we are

Digital infrastructure for the used-oil chain

Biord is a digital reverse-logistics platform for used cooking oil, created to transform how used vegetable oil is disposed of, collected, tracked, and sent to its final destination in Brazil. We connect technology, data, and sustainability to solve a critical environmental problem in a scalable, transparent, and efficient way.

Our mission is to build the digital infrastructure for the used-oil chain, integrating individuals, restaurants, collectors, treatment companies, and public authorities into a single ecosystem.

The problem

The problem we solve

Improper disposal of used cooking oil is a major contributor to:

  • Water and soil contamination
  • Sewer blockages
  • Higher sanitation costs
  • Loss of a waste material with high reuse potential

Although used oil is generated on a large scale, its management has historically lacked traceability, reliable data, and integration. Biord was created to solve this structural bottleneck.

Our solution

Reverse logistics powered by technology and data

Biord provides a complete digital solution for used cooking oil reverse logistics, allowing the entire waste cycle to be monitored, documented, and analyzed. Through the platform, users can:

  • Schedule and organize used-oil collections
  • Track waste from disposal to final destination
  • Generate digital receipts and reports
  • Optimize collection routes using data
  • Support environmental compliance and transparency

All of this in a single platform designed to operate at municipal, regional, and national scale.

Technology

Technology applied to sustainability

Biord uses digital technology, automation, and data intelligence to make reverse logistics more efficient and reliable. Its main technology pillars include:

  • Digital traceability of used vegetable oil
  • Smart, optimized collection routes
  • Environmental dashboards and reports
  • Integration across different user profiles
  • Automated issuance of environmental documents

This approach helps reduce operating costs, CO₂ emissions, and environmental impacts while generating strategic data for companies and governments.

Impact

Environmental and social impact

Every liter of oil disposed of correctly helps prevent the contamination of large volumes of water and reduces damage to sanitation infrastructure. With Biord, positive impact is measurable, including:

Volume
of oil collected and tracked by region
Reduction
estimated in water contamination
Efficiency
of collection logistics and operational indicators

Beyond environmental impact, Biord promotes environmental education, encourages proper disposal, and creates economic value from a waste material that was previously discarded.

Recognition

Institutional and international recognition

Biord is recognized nationally and internationally and was a finalist in an international program by the United Nations (UN) focused on sustainability and environmental innovation. We also have recognition within the InovAtiva ecosystem and the Green Sampa program, reinforcing Biord's position as a Brazilian business in technology, circularity, the green economy and impact.

InovAtiva

InovAtiva recognition. InovAtiva is one of Brazil's leading acceleration and networking ecosystems for innovative startups. For Biord, this recognition reinforces the strength of our traceability technology applied to the circular economy.

Green Sampa

Green Sampa recognition. Green Sampa is an entrepreneurship and innovation program focused on sustainable businesses and the green economy, run by ADE SAMPA. This recognition highlights Biord as a solution aligned with environmental impact, urban innovation and sustainable development.

Our vision

Where we want to go

We believe the future of waste management depends on data, traceability, and integration. Our vision is to make Biord Brazil’s leading digital infrastructure for used cooking oil reverse logistics, contributing to cleaner cities, more responsible supply chains, and a sustainable model for resource recovery.

Who Biord is for

Every link in the used-oil chain

  • Individuals and consumers
  • Restaurants and commercial establishments
  • Used vegetable oil collectors
  • Treatment and recovery companies
  • Public agencies and environmental managers

By integrating all these participants, the platform creates efficiency, transparency, and positive environmental impact.

Compliance

Biord and environmental compliance

Biord operates in alignment with legal requirements for reverse logistics and waste management, supporting users in meeting environmental standards. The platform enables the generation of digital receipts, technical reports, and documents required by regulatory authorities, strengthening environmental governance and legal assurance for operations.

Our commitment

More than a platform, a commitment to sustainability

We work to transform used cooking oil disposal into a real opportunity for positive impact on the environment, society, and the circular economy.

Get started

From waste origin to renewable energy markets

Biord was designed to connect Brazilian used cooking oil generators with biofuel and renewable fuel supply chains. The platform records photos, timestamps and geolocation and structures custody events and volume records according to mass-balance principles used in ISCC systems. Its architecture anticipates future integration with the EU Union Database (UDB), without claiming an existing certification or active connection.

Waste origin

Structured records of generators and collection events.

Mass balance

Inputs, outputs and stock reconciliation connected to logistics events.

Energy transition

Data that supports biodiesel, HVO and SAF value chains and carbon footprint assessment.

Institutional recognition

Biord has participated in the United Nations sustainability and entrepreneurship ecosystem and the Brazilian innovation initiatives Green Sampa and InovAtiva. These relationships are part of our history; they should not be interpreted as ISCC certification or UN endorsement.
